New Brochure Promotes ID Specialty
IDSA has updated marketing materials in an effort to draw more medical students into pursuing the subspecialty of infectious diseases.
A new brochure is available from IDSA, entitled, “A World of Opportunities: Career Paths in Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine.” The updated brochure provides key information on training requirements, job satisfaction, and the broad selection of career opportunities that are available within this diverse and challenging field.
The new brochure offers inspirational profiles of leaders in the field of ID and HIV, from academia and public health to industry and private practice. Those profiled include Kim Y. Smith, MD, of Rush Medical College in Chicago; Gail Bolan, MD, of the California Department of Health Services in Richmond, Calif.; Larry Martinelli, MD, FIDSA, a private practitioner in Lubbock, Texas; Arjun Srinivasan, MD, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta; David Relman, MD, FIDSA, of Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.; and Clarence Young, MD, FIDSA, of Protez Pharmaceuticals in Malvern, Pa.
It will also be mailed to internal medicine residents and to directors of ID training programs and is available on the IDSA website in both PDF and HTML formats.
