Second Clinical Practice Meeting Planned for 2007
IDSA will hold its second Clinical Practice Meeting on Feb. 16 and 17 in St. Petersburg, Fla., featuring valuable resources and practical strategies for clinicians in practice.
“We hope to build on the success of our first meeting and make this an indispensable yearly opportunity for ID clinicians and practice managers to meet, share strategies, and learn how to improve their practices,” said Lawrence Martinelli, MD, FIDSA, chair of the 2007 Clinical Practice Meeting Work Group.
The 2007 meeting will include sessions on how to negotiate with private payers, address the challenges of human resources management, and improve billing and coding processes. Attendees who see a significant number of HIV/AIDS patients will benefit from new sessions on running an efficient HIV clinic and getting reimbursed for HIV care. Other topics include outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy, electronic medical records and other health care technology, and travel medicine. The 2007 meeting will also feature plenty of break-out sessions so that attendees can tailor the meeting to their own interests.
Registration will open November 6. Go to the IDSA website and click on “Clinical Practice Meeting” under “Meetings” for the latest information.
