Although tough times may lay ahead, given the nation’s economic constraints and their potential impact on federal funding for research, public health, and patient care, IDSA will continue to focus on the needs of the Society’s diverse membership, from practicing ID clinicians providing direct patient care to researchers and scientists in academic and public health settings.

| Medicare Announces Payment Changes for 2011 |

Medicare announced a number of changes in how physicians will be paid next year, under the final version of the 2011 Physician Fee Schedule. Unfortunately, no change is in store regarding the contentious decision to eliminate payments for consultation codes.
