IDSA/Avalere Study Demonstrates the Value of the ID Specialist
Study released in Clinical Infectious Diseases provides documented evidence that early intervention by an infectious disease (ID) specialist saves lives and reduces medical costs.

In 2000, the late Nobel laureate, Joshua Lederberg wrote in reference to the struggle to address antibiotic resistance, that it’s “our wits versus their genes.” In 2013, we used our wits and determination to anticipate and counter microbial threats to health.

CDC Report Puts Spotlight on Threat of Antibiotic Resistance

Report recommends four core actions to stop the spread of resistance that are closely aligned with the goals of IDSA, and we have been working with the CDC, congressional champions and coalition partners to build upon the momentum generated by this report and spur meaningful policy actions.
