IDSA Joins SHEA in Commenting on Respiratory Protective Devices
IDSA teamed up with the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) to submit comments the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) request for comment on respiratory protective devices (RPDs) used in healthcare. The joint comments support streamlined approval of respirators as well as clarity, transparency, and harmonization of regulatory requirements across federal agencies so that, in cases of pandemics or other infectious disease outbreaks, healthcare institutions have in stock RPDs that meet federal safety standards.
